President, Yumi Aoyama, MD, PhD
Professor and Chair, Department of Dermatology
Kawasaki Medical School, Okayama, Japan
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the 51st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology (JSID), which will be held in Okayama, Japan, from December 4 to 6, 2026. We are truly privileged to serve as the host for this important meeting in investigative dermatology.
The sub-theme of this meeting is “Activation”. With this theme, we wish to express our hope that face-to-face discussions among skin researchers from all over the world will activate many levels: individual curiosity and motivation, the progress of basic and clinical research, and ultimately, contributions to society. By bringing together young investigators and leading experts, as well as colleagues from basic science, clinical practice, and industry, we aim to create opportunities for new connections and “new chemistry” that will spark innovative ideas and collaborations.
The scientific program will cover a broad range of topics in dermatology and cutaneous biology, from fundamental mechanisms to translational research and clinical applications. We plan to offer symposia, educational sessions, and various forums where participants can freely exchange ideas, challenge existing concepts, and build networks that extend beyond disciplines and national borders.
Okayama is a charming city with easy access and rich cultural attractions, including Korakuen Garden, the historic town of Kurashiki, and nearby art islands such as Naoshima. The region is also famous for its delicious local food—fresh fish, seasonal fruits, cheese and wine, and of course, excellent sake. We warmly encourage you to enjoy the local cuisine and atmosphere while you are here.
I sincerely hope that the 51st JSID Meeting will serve as a dynamic platform for generating new ideas and discoveries that will shape the future of dermatology. We very much look forward to welcoming you to Okayama in December 2026 and to sharing an exciting and inspiring time together.
With warmest regards.
